This is a folding and tilting four bike rack. It has been designed for use with inch and a quarter or two inch hitches. Part number on it is TH934XTR. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we do this, we want to lineup our threaded hole with our hitch pinhole. We'll then take the provided anti rattle bolt and thread that in. more

Thule Vertex Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan- Video
Today on our 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan we're going to do a test fit of the Thule Vertex. This is a folding and tilting 4-bike rack. They've designed it for use with 1-1/4" or 2" hitches. The part number on our 4-bike here is TH9029. Now if you don't need quite this much room we have a 2-bike version available as part number TH9028. There's also a 5-bike version available as part number TH9030. To begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. more

Thule Doubletrack Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Volkswagen Jetta- Video
Today on our 2013 Volkswagen Jetta well be doing a test fit of the Thule Doubletrack Platform Style 2-Bike Carrier for 1 and 2-inch hitches, part number th990xt. To begin with since this vehicle has an 1 hitch on it, we will not be using the coupler that allows you to use it on a 2-inch hitch. First we will go ahead and slide the bike rack into the hitch on the vehicle. Then well go ahead and take the anti-rattle bolt and thread it in from the passenger side towards the drivers side. Were going to go ahead and use a ratchet here to make things a little quicker for tightening down the anti-rattle bolt. A wrench is included with the kit that you can tighten down the bolt with if you so choose. more

Yakima DoubleDown Ace 2 Bike Rack Review - 2005 Volkswagen Jetta- Video
Today on our 2005 Volkswagen Jetta well be test fitting the Yakima Doubledown Ace 2-Bike Carrier, part number y02450. To begin our test fit, well slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, line up our pin holes, insert our pin with the red knob into the pin holes, and turn the black knob at the back of the shank to engage the anti-rattle device. Now that our bike carrier is secured to our Jetta, well go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 14 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of our Jetta is here at the rear bumper about 4 inches away, and weve added about 9 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. Well now pull the red lever at the top of the mast to swing the cradle arms out, and with the cradle arms out weve added about 22 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. more

Kuat Beta Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2005 Volkswagen Jetta New Body- Video
Today on our 2005 Volkswagen Jetta well be test fitting the Kuat Beta Hitch Mounted Aluminum 2-Bike Carrier, part number b202-114. Well begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch lining up our pin holes, inserting the pin through the pin holes and securing with the clip on the other side. Well then turn the black t-handle at the back of the shank to engage the anti-rattle device. Now that our Kuat Beta is secured to our Jetta well go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 12 inches of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of our Jetta is here at the rear bumper about 5 inches away, and weve added about 11 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. more

Today on our 2013 Volkswagen Passat, well be test fitting with the Thule Apex 4 Bike Carrier, part number TH9025. Note that with this carrier and this vehicle, which is equipped with a Class I hitch, you will only be able to carry two bikes. To begin our test fit, well slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, line up our pin holes, enter the spring-loaded pin to the pin hole, and turn the black knob to engage our anti-rattle device to secure the carrier to the vehicle. Now well go ahead and go over a few clearance measurements to see to see how the bike carrier and this vehicle will fit together. There is about nine inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the vehicle to the closest part of the carrier is about three inches. more

With this bike carrier and this vehicle, you can access the cargo area when the platform is folded up or by pulling the three pins located at the base of the carrier to fold the platform down. Pro Series Q-Slot Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Volkswagen Jetta- Video
Today on our 2012 Volkswagen Jetta well be test fitting the Pro Series Q-slot platform style bike carrier for both 1 inch and 2 inch hitches part #: PS63134. Now to begin our test fit well simply slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pinhole and install our hitch pin. This will secure our bike rack to the vehicle. We can now go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the back of the bike rack is 13 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 8 inches. Well now go ahead and unfold the bike rack platform and open our trunk. more

Alright, today on this 2010 Volkswagen Jetta were going to do a test fit of part #: A30901 from Sport Rack. A few notes about this bicycle rack that it will work with inch and a quarter receiver hitches both class 1 and class 2. This will also work with a 2 inch receiver hitch with the included spacer and on this vehicle well be working with a class 1 hitch. Well start off our test fit by installing the bike rack into the hitch, then well tighten down the anti-rattle bolt and then put the safety pin on the other side. After that well fold the bike rack and get a couple of clearance measurements. Alright, clearance from the bumper to the bike rack is going to be 7 inches. more

Next well check for rear of vehicle access. Well fold down the wheel trays and the upright mast and make sure we can still open the trunk and access the cargo area. Now we can fold the upright mast back up and well be ready to load a bike. more

Next well check for rear vehicle access. Well fold the carrier down as far as we can, open the trunk of our Jetta and make sure we can still get inside. With that done, we can fold our platform back up level and open up the ratcheting arm on the bike rack. more

Today on our 2011 Volkswagen Jetta we will be test fitting the Thule Doubletrack Platform-Style Bike Carrier, product number TH990XT. With our vehicle already equipped with 1-14 inch hitch and our bike rack already preassembled we're ready to go ahead and get started. We'll begin by inserting the shank into the hitch lining up the hitch pin and inserting our anti-rattle bolt. We'll then tighten it down using our 3/4-inch wrench. Today on this 2010 Volkswagen Jetta Sports Wagon, we are going to do a test with the part number TH990XT Thule Double Track Platform Bike Rack. This carrier will work on an inch and a quarter receiver hitches and also with two inch receiver hitches. In this instance well be working with the class two hitch.
